CA Department of Fish and Wildlife Job Posting: Fish Passage Engineer SENIOR HYDRAULIC ENGINEER

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is recruiting for an energetic and self-motivated Senior Hydraulic Engineer to: serve as a statewide expert concerning the design and hydraulic performance of fish screens, fish ladders and other fish facilities; provide engineering support and consultation to Department staff and regional personnel on technical and engineering aspects of major development projects or sensitive issues that impact fish and wildlife; and represent the Department on technical engineering committees and collaborative efforts with other governmental agencies, environmental advocacy groups and the public involving fish passage and protection, habitat enhancement and stream restoration, instream flows and other watershed issues. The incumbent will plan, organize, and design fish screens, fish ladders and other fish facilities to conform to applicable standards often on a tight timeline and successfully work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, geologists, fluvial geomorphologists, ecologists, biologists and other environmental scientists.
