Fish Passage 2022: Registration and Call for Abstracts Open

Registration is now open for Fish Passage 2022 – the International Conference on River Connectivity – which will convene June 13-16, 2022 in Richland, WA, USA. The event will be hosted by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and it will bring together scientists, managers, industry professionals, students, and other stakeholders to discuss pressing issues, research, and development related to fish passage and river connectivity.

Abstract submissions are encouraged to address this year’s theme – “Opportunities and Innovation in a Changing World” – which may attend to broader issues or case studies related to fish passage and river connectivity, including but not limited to:

  • Dam/barrier removal
  • Multi-species passage
  • Technology and monitoring
  • Fish physiology
  • Culvert passage
  • Habitat connectivity
  • Partnerships and collaboration
  • Policy, regulations, and management
  • Decision support systems
  • Social and economic valuation
  • Cultural and indigenous perspectives

Abstracts are due no later than March 21, 2022. Everyone planning to present at Fish Passage 2022 should submit an abstract, even if your symposium session has been accepted. Review of abstracts will begin promptly after the deadline with notifications sent to authors in early April. Further details on the meeting, including special events, tours, and workshops, can be found on the conference website at fishpassage.fisheries.org.

We recognize the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has generated a lot of uncertainty and acknowledge the concerns related to travel and in-person gatherings. At this time, we are moving forward with plans for a hybrid (in-person and virtual) event. Any changes to these plans will be announced as soon as possible.

Feel free to reach out to fishpassage.2022@gmail.com with any questions.
