Workshop: “Doing That Interwebs Stuff” for AFS Webmasters and Unit Leaders

September 29, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

We regret to announce that this course has been cancelled. We will develop a webinar for those who wish to develop their webmaster skills. Please contact FITS or ESAB if you are interested!

This short course is designed for anyone interested in or involved in handling their Chapter or Division website. Presented by fellow AFS members, course topics will focus on practical needs, useful tools for communication and site management, and one-on-one assistance to make your unit site all it can be. This half-day course covers general WordPress site management; describes website options and recommendations for AFS unit website management; discusses needed functionalities for units and recommended solutions, and provides direct assistance and troubleshooting with website development. The course uses a combination of lecture, practice, and question-answer formats as instructional methods.

Topics will be discussed in non-technical terms, with the goal of making the role of webmaster more accessible and less intimidating for any AFS member who wants to contribute to their unit. Any members are welcome regardless of their current level of involvement; however, we do strongly suggest that unit leaders or webmasters attend. To learn more, please contact Rebecca Krogman, Electronic Services Advisory Board member, at rebecca.krogman@gmail.com. The course is presented by the Electronic Services Advisory Board, a member committee of AFS.
