{"id":520,"date":"2018-07-18T15:25:46","date_gmt":"2018-07-18T20:25:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/virtuallearn.wpengine.com\/fits\/?p=520"},"modified":"2018-07-18T15:44:33","modified_gmt":"2018-07-18T20:44:33","slug":"travel-award-to-attend-the-fish-and-wildlife-information-managers-meeting-this-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/units.fisheries.org\/fits\/2018\/07\/18\/travel-award-to-attend-the-fish-and-wildlife-information-managers-meeting-this-november\/","title":{"rendered":"Travel Award to Attend the Fish and Wildlife Information Managers Meeting this November"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fisheries Information and Technology Section is excited to announce a <span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>new travel award of up to $1,000<\/strong><\/span> to attend its partner society OFWIM&#8217;s annual meeting!<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for a FITS member to represent the Section at the meeting of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ofwim.org\/?page_id=6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Organization of Fish and Wildlife Information Managers<\/a> (OFWIM), an international group that promotes the management and conservation of natural resources by facilitating technology and information exchange among managers of fish and wildlife information.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ofwim.org\/?p=1807\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2018 Annual Meeting<\/a>\u00a0will be held November 4-8 in Hood River, Oregon. <strong>Never been? That&#8217;s perfect!<\/strong>\u00a0 OFWIM is a smaller organization than AFS, and its meeting provides ample opportunity to get to know people more intimately and attend all of the sessions and meeting-related events.
