MTAFS 2020 Meeting Announcement and First Call for Symposia, Papers, and Posters:

Celebrating fish diversity in Montana, native and non-native alike, including opportunities and challenges

The 2020 Montana Chapter of AFS annual meeting will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell, MT on February 25-28, 2020.   Blocks of rooms have been reserved, so be sure to make your room reservations by January 24, 2020.  Contact the Hilton Garden Inn at: 1-406-756-4500, and ask for the AFSMT reserved block of rooms.  Filling the room block reduces costs incurred by our Chapter! The Hilton Garden Inn has provided us a great deal on rooms.  There are Double Occupancy, King and Suites available for $95 per night, on a first serve basis, so make your reservation early!

This is the first call for symposia, papers, and posters for the 2020 Chapter meeting.

The Holidays are sneaking up on us fast and will be here and gone before you know it, so please be thinking about the 2020 AFS Chapter meeting now.  Here are the dates for future meeting deadlines to watch for:

November 15, 2019:  Second Call for symposia, papers, and posters

December 13, 2019: Final Call for symposia, papers and posters

January 8, 2020:  MT Chapter AFS meeting program finalized and provided to members

Abstract submissions for papers and posters should be submitted to me in MS word using the following format: Times New Roman (12 point) font with single spacing.  All abstracts must include the title, author(s), and a concise abstract body that does not to exceed 250-word count.

Your EXCOM members want to put on a meeting that interests our members, so please tell us what you would like to get out of this year’s meeting.  If you have an idea for a symposium, please contact me directly.  It takes a lot of work to put on an annual meeting and our chapter welcomes help from anyone gracious enough to volunteer, so please contact me if you would like to help, even if you don’t know exactly how.

The Holidays are just around the corner so now is the time to think about symposia, topics and speakers.  Please contact me if you are interested in participating in the meeting.

The EXCOM is in the process of finalizing all aspects of the 2020 meeting including continuing education opportunities, poster session, student mentoring sessions, and social events.  Stay Tuned!

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Thanks,

Jim Dunnigan
