The Science Communication Section is excited to announce that we will be co-hosting the Impact-a-thon workshop “Angling for New Ideas in Science Communication” at the 148th Annual American Fisheries Society meeting.

The full day event taking place on Sunday, August 19, 2018 will focus on transforming peer-reviewed research into written and visual communication outputs that ensure fisheries science is reaching  users of scientific information in ways that encourage knowledge exchange. Guided by fisheries, communications, and policy professionals, workshop participants will be designing projects that improve the impact of science beyond the publication and promote engagement with science by relevant publics. Projects will be adjudicated and the winning  idea will be awarded a grant from Wiley Publishing.
