Continuing Education

This year we have lots of subjects suggested for continuing education. Three courses have been confirmed. To begin with we have “Stream Discharge Measurements”, a hands-on course on a living stream taught by Kenny Saunders, TPWD Resource Protection Division, San Marcos. This will be a two-hour course taught twice. It will begin at 1pm and conclude at 3pm, then begin again at 3pm and conclude at 5pm. (In plenty of time for the student mixer.) Next we have “Water Quality Measurements and Data Sonde Calibration”, again, a hands-on course in real water taught by Randy Rushing, a tech rep for YSI. You will be exposed to all of the water quality measuring devices in Randy’s arsenal. It will begin at 2pm and conclude at 3pm, then repeat and conclude at 4pm.  The third course is titled “Stream Pollution Indicators”.  The instructor will be Terry Mills of the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission.  This course will run from 2:00-3:00 p.m. and again from 3:00-4:00.
