Welcome to the Eighth International Symposium on Aquatic Animal Health! The  American Fisheries Society – Fish Health Section is excited to be partnering with the Prince Edward Island BioAlliance and the Atlantic Veterinary College to host ISAAH 2018 on the beautiful east coast of Canada in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island! We look forward to hosting you and encourage you to sign up for all of our social events which will provide some of the best local food that Canada’s Food Island has to offer, unbelievable Atlantic Canadian entertainment and lots and lots of networking opportunities for you to meet businesses and researchers from all over the world!

Sunday, September 2nd, 6:30-8:30 p.m. – ISAAH 2018 Opening Reception

(No additional cost to attend for full Conference Registrants)

The opening reception will take place on the Harbourview Deck, Delta Prince Edward Hotel (Convention Centre). Join us for some tasty Island treats and traditional PEI entertainment at our kick-off networking reception overlooking the scenic Charlottetown Harbour.

Sunday, September 2nd, 5:00-7:00 p.m. – ISAAH 2018 Student & Early Professional Reception

Students and early professionals are invited to attend a reception in the Steeves-McGee Host Suite on the Mezzanine level, above the Delta Hotel Lobby. This is a great opportunity to network prior to the start of the conference. More details here.

Monday, September 3rd, 6:00-9:30 p.m. – PEI Cultural Event & BBQ

(Delegates must pre-register/ Cost is $45 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes dinner and transportation from the Conference Centre)

This event will take place at Skmaqn–Port-la-Joye–Fort Amherst National Historic Site. Join us for a relaxing evening at one of Prince Edward Island’s most beautiful historic National Parks overlooking the Charlottetown Harbour in Rocky Point. Buses will depart from the Delta Prince Edward Hotel to transport guests to and from the event grounds for an outdoor BBQ, entertainment, cultural displays and tours. More information about the event here.

Tuesday, September 4th, 6:00 p.m. – Discover Charlottetown Event

(No additional cost to attend this event for Full Conference attendees)

This event will take place at Confederation Centre of the Arts, Memorial Hall. Join us (and the Mothers and Fathers of Confederation Players) as we kick off your evening tour of historical downtown Charlottetown pubs and other important places with a reception at Memorial Hall at Charlottetown’s signature Confederation Centre of the Arts.

Wednesday, September 5th, 6:30-10:30 p.m. – ISAAH 2018 Awards Banquet & Cocktail Reception

(Delegates must pre-register/ Cost is $95.00 CAD + applicable taxes)

This event will take place at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel (PEI Convention Centre). An opening cocktail reception will set the stage for the ISAAH 2018 Awards Banquet, featuring fresh local seafood & keynote presenter Adel El-Mowafi, Ph.D., Aquaculture Technology Application Director, Cargill Aqua Nutrition, Norway, followed by some lively PEI Entertainment.

Friday, September 7th – Post-Conference Field Trip (SOLD OUT)

The Shuttle will leave from the Convention Center (Delta Prince Edward Hotel) at 8:00 am, returning by 6:00 pm on Friday, September 7th.  Space is limited. The cost for participation in the day-long biotech and aquaculture field trip (which includes lunch at PEI’s renowned Inn at Bay Fortune, home of celebrity chef Michael Smith) is $75 CAD, plus applicable taxes.
