Chelsey Crandall, Kerry Flaherty-Walia, Kim Bonvechio, and Janice Kerns were co-recipients of the first Florida Chapter Outstanding Achievement Award for launching Women of Fisheries, Inc. This organization has fostered discussions on sexism, representation, and fieldwork accommodation by providing a space for women to share their stories with each other and seek advice. The organization also supports career development of women in fisheries related professions by sharing jobs and encouraging networking opportunities. Since its inception in 2018, the organization has grown to over 1,200 members from more than 40 countries. view full nomination
