Wildlife Computers’ Tech Used in Gulf Tarpon Study

From 2018 to 2019, citizen scientists tagged 23 tarpon with Wildlife Computers SPOT tags to examine space use and movement across the northern Gulf of Mexico. Tarpon shows a higher tendency to stay in Alabama and Mississippi compared with Louisiana. The examination of tarpon’s habits and movements indicates that Louisiana, an understudied part of their habitat, is critical to their survival.
