The Fisheries Information and Technology Section is excited to announce a new travel award of up to $1,000 to attend its partner society OFWIM’s annual meeting!
We are looking for a FITS member to represent the Section at the meeting of the Organization of Fish and Wildlife Information Managers (OFWIM), an international group that promotes the management and conservation of natural resources by facilitating technology and information exchange among managers of fish and wildlife information.
The 2018 Annual Meeting will be held November 4-8 in Hood River, Oregon. Never been? That’s perfect! OFWIM is a smaller organization than AFS, and its meeting provides ample opportunity to get to know people more intimately and attend all of the sessions and meeting-related events. This year’s meeting includes:
- A drone demonstration
- Visits to salmon habitat restoration projects
- A panel discussion of the 2017 Eagle Creek fire, and the necessity of collaboration across borders
Don’t miss it! Apply online by August 31, 2018, at the FITS Website.
