FITS Representative on the AFS Resource Policy Committee
This is a low time investment that usually involves a few conference calls throughout the year as needed, plus the time that is required to keep the respective unit informed on the latest policy developments and requests. Communications and Outreach Coordinator (COC)
The COC oversees section outreach and communications with Section and Society members. Activities and duties include emails to members, social media posts (Twitter and Facebook), and managing web content (website experience not required). The COC often assists with our annual meeting efforts (continuing education, symposium), and attends most monthly ExCom meetings. COC projects that are appropriate to the Section are encouraged. For example, Sarah, our past COC, published a series of tech articles for the Section News part of Fisheries magazine (example 1, example 2). The COC is appointed by the FITS President for a two-year term.

Center for Fisheries Technology and Collaboration (CFTC) Volunteers
The online Center for Fisheries Technology and Collaboration is the go-to place to find solutions to fisheries data collection, analysis, storage, and sharing needs. To grow, it needs people like you who are willing to help! We are looking for someone to help us connect with vendors in their area who would benefit from being part of the Center. Are you big on electrofishing? Help us connect with electrofishing backpack and boat companies. Are you involved in remote monitoring? Help us connect with companies that make great sondes. We need you to make the Center more useful for all AFS members!
