Connected River: International seminar on scaling up dam removal as a river restoration tool in Europe

May 19-21, 2022 in Lisbon, Portugal

ANP/WWF Portugal, World Fish Migration Foundation, Wetlands International and The Nature Conservancy invite you to the 7th Dam Removal Europe seminar! During this event, we will focus on scaling up dam removal, and the potential of this initiative to enhance the biodiversity of rivers across Europe. We will hear from speakers from the USA and several European countries on best practices.

This event is open to river authorities, ministries, policy makers, EU project managers, companies, engineers, researchers, students, social experts, and so on.

The third day of the event will include a trip to visit a potential barrier to be removed. The seminar is part of the global World Fish Migration Day celebrations. Another highlight of the event will be the Portuguese premiere of the DamBusters documentary.

This event is made possible by WWF/ANP Portugal, Wetlands International, The Nature Conservancy, APA (Portuguese Environment Agency), LNEC (National Laboratory for Civil Engineering), and World Fish Migration Foundation.
